Fall…

Sunday, October 30th, 2005

Been about three weeks, so whats been going on… Lets see….

Summer was quickly replaced with fall, and now it seems winter is just around the corner. Pumpkins are out in force, green lawns are now covered with colorful leaves, and it is dark when it was once daylight. Soon the leaves will be replaced with brown grass, and white snow. Out of all the seasons, winter is the one I like the least. Its hard to get out, people go running from the house to the car, and said car just goes flying all over the roads. I am a much more spring/fall kind of guy. If you could have the wonderful smell of blooming flowers, and the wonderful fall colors, with the nice cool-ish weather all year long (OK, how about like 6 or 7 real hot days in the middle, now weeks or months) that would be perfect. I do not mind winter for the first month, but here in Minnesota it lasts a bit longer than a month.

Mall walking

Sunday, October 9th, 2005

This weekend I tried out mall walking, and it worked out great! I live about 1 mile away from the Mall of America, very big and very close. I was not sure what I was going to do for exercise over winter, I could do the treadmill, but I view that as a backup exercise source. I could do skiing or snow-shoeing, but its cold outside! Last week a coworker mentioned indoor walking, and a light bulb went on. Mall walking! Friday evening I went down to the Mall of America with my pedometer. It looks like each time around is .5 miles, so 7 times around (twice on each floor, plus 1 more) and I am done!

So far the only problem is that everyone is walking slower than me (which is different than the trails I walk on, as I am use to being the slow one)
