Feel good, then bad

Monday, July 25th, 2005

Sorry I have not posted in a week, you know…

Last week was great, for the first time in a good 3 months, I was feeling great (physically feeling good, mentally feeling better). I was eating better, going out and getting exercise, got to see my sister which was real supper duper nice, all was good…
… but Friday, I just hit a brick wall I started getting all sorts of weird aches, mainly on my left arm, and in my chest. A good friend talked me in to getting it checked out to make sure my heart was not going to go or something, and thank god that came back normal. Today, 3 days later I still feel a bit off, but will stop by the doc tomorrow and see whats going on.

Just wish it was last week again…

Vegas?

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

Well, I added that dreams category.

Last night I had a dream that I was in Las Vegas for work. Sure, normal you say? It was a fancy hotel, my room was a good 8 feet by 11 feet big, and contained a cot type bed. (a very nice cot type bed, but still a cot type bed). Room number was #7. On the way to the room, I broke a porcelain figurine and they where not happy about that.

Now it gets weird.
On my room I asked someone for directions, I thought room 7 was on the 7th floor. The lady said that it was down on the 1st floor (which for some reason was two flights of stairs below the 7th floor), and the also mentioned that they where going to evacuate the hotel because of a hurricane warning. Yep, only in Vegas can you have a hurricane in the desert I guess.

Planes

Monday, July 18th, 2005

I spent yesterday afternoon watching planes at MSP airport. On interesting weather days I enjoy going down to the airport to see how skilled the ATC controllers and pilots are, and yesterday is one day I would not like to by going to MSP. Two things where going on yesterday when I was watching planes. The first thing was that instead of a headwind, the airport had a stiff crosswind, going at 20kt gusting to 30kt. This makes it very hard for the planes to stay lined up with the runway, as you can imagine, and because of the lack of headwind, departures need more runway to get in the air. On top of that, it was very hot, which affects how much lift the planes get. In this case, it was 96 deg F. Departures taking more time, in combination with arrivals going all over the place on approach made for some interesting viewing. Most of the planes where landing a good 1000ft farther in to the runway as they normally do, and going all over the place on the way in. The conditions also made weight a bit more of an issue as well. The normal 10,000ft runway was not long enough for a tiny little DC9, and they had to use the 11,000ft runway because of weight. I expect to see that from a 747, but not from a DC9.
Also, because of the conditions, I saw three go-arounds in the 2 hours I watched things. I normally hear three a week.

Very interesting afternoon.

dreams

Sunday, July 17th, 2005

For some reason I have been having more and more dreams at night (sleeping better or something?). Last week I had a very scary dream that I was sick and went to the hospital and was told I was not going to make it. At that point I woke up, and was surprised I was not at the hospital. Freaky.

Last night I had 2 or 3 dreams that I can remember. One of them was that I was someplace (I remember being at the corner of a big building). and I watched a 747 fly overhead. The 747 kept circling over, and I would need to hide behind the big building to avoid the jet blast. The other thing funny is that it was almost like it was a supersonic 747, as I could see and hear the sound waves coming some time after the 747 went past.

The second dream I remember is that I had a kid, she was 2 years old. She had a tummy ache and wanted to make it go away. Odd.

The third is that my father was pruning bushes in a yard, and the window to the house was open. My cat had jumped out the window and we had to go chasing after him.

All of this is quite odd, Guess I need to add a dream category?

Life getting back togeather

Saturday, July 9th, 2005

Well, over the past two days things are getting back together. My mind is starting to get more focused after being distracted from personal problems, I got my car accident stuff out of the way real quickly, which was real nice, and I went to the eye doctor, and he was able to help me out with some stuff, so that is something else I do not need to worry about. My sinus infection is on the way out, and it is nice outside. What else could I ask for.

Still kind of bored on the weekends, but we will see what we can do about that.

Car crash

Tuesday, July 5th, 2005

Well, coming home from my Friends last night, I got in to a bit of an accident. I was almost home, going down Nicolet Ave in Richfield, now the fireworks had just finished up in Richfield, which tend to be very popular, Everyone and there brother where trying to leave the city. It was a constant line of cars going northbound getting out of the city. I was heading home going southbound, and someone tried to make it through the constant line of cars going northbound. Unfortunately I did not even see them before they hit my car, on top of that, someone tried going behind that person, so the person that hit me also got rear ended.

Luckily I got out of it ok (I think). A bit of aces and pain, but they where not going very fast which helped quite a bit. I now get to have the fun of dealing with the insurance companies and whatnot, on top of that I have a cute little Dodge Neon rental car. I do not like cute little cars :-)

Sinus infection

Saturday, July 2nd, 2005

Well, it seems like every time I get back from DR, I get sick. One year it was pink-eye, another year it was strepped throat, and this year, the winner is a sinus infection.

We will see what the 10 days of antibiotics do for me.
