I have ran across a podcast called This Week in Tech. This is done by the old Screensavers crew and is not all that bad. If you like it, send in some cash so they can continue to work on the project. They do a tech broadcast every week.
Yay, Fun.
Last Thursday (while at the cabin) I had started having a bit of pain in the area of my bladder. I had no idea what it could be. Stone? something bad? I was somewhat worried. The pain was not that bad at all, but did not go away after several days. I found my way to Southdale fairview urgent care, and the doctor said prostate infection. (my guess was bladder infection, or some kind of UTI), and prescribed antibiotics.
Reading about these types of infections over the Internet, these infections clear up after several days of treatment. Monday passed, Tuesday passed, and in to wends day, still having pain.
I went in to visit my normal doctors office, and see whats up. Talked with a Physicians assistant at the office, and she said give it until the weekend unless it gets worse. She also did some blood tests, and requested results of the urine culture.
Wednesday passed, Thursday passed, Friday, got the results from the tests, and nothing.
Saturday, I thought it was going to be worse. I woke up at 5:00am with a need to go, but I could not go, man did that scare me.
In to Saturday afternoon, the pain went away for the most part. Here it is, Sunday evening, and still no pain. This thing might just be gone. (but still have another week of antibiotics to get through, so the fun digestive side effects of that are fun).
Well, Today Netapp treated customers to a 9:00am showing of the new star wars movie this morning, I must say, the movie was not as bad as I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, its not the best thing ever, but it did not totally suck.
They did a good job of tying things together, the fall of the Jedi was interesting. I would have liked a bit more Yoda fighting, and they tried to tie up like 6 story lines in the last 10 minutes of the movie which was annoying.
Overall, it is a 5 or 6 out of a 10.
Well, another amazing thing, relating to my debt load. Today I did up my bills for May. I paid my mortgage, utilities, credit card, etc. Amazingly, I still have money in my checking account. This has not been the case in about 6 to 8 months.
I love it!
Well, last and final day at the cabin. Again, was a very cold day getting up. Most of the day I just sat around and relaxed. we got a game of monoloy in, and I was able to destroy a can with the pellet gun. My sister has a Dr appt tomorrow morning, so we had to take off today. We left around 10:00pm, in the cold rain. The rain made for a fun drive home. I got my sister home about 1:45, and I got home around 2:00am.
Overall was a very short trip, but I guess thats all I get this year.
Today is about the only full day we get at the cabin. This morning was very cold, the fire had gone out, so we had to get another one going. this morning. Today was a bit cool, but that did not stop me from spending time just relaxing down by the lake, just watching the wind, water, birds, etc. Was overall a very nice day.
Well, as planned we headed up north to our cabin for a nice little vacation. We are not going to be able to spend as much time up at the cabin as I would like, but life goes on.
We headed up at around 3:00pm, and we made it up to the cabin by about 7:00pm. We just had enough time to settle in, and visit for a bit. It was very cold, so we ended up getting a fire going in the fireplace.
Well, Mom leaves today, so not much time to spend with her.
I went to pick up Mom from Aunt Judy’s, and my sister brought the two half-siblings down from her house to my house. We hung out here for a bit (showed everyone around the house), then we went on a road trip around the Minneapolis lakes, where my mother spent quite a bit of time. We where very tight on time, so it was direct to the airport from the lake trip. Mom and family went off, and the visit ended as promptly as it started.
It was very nice that Mom could come up and spend time with all of us.

Today we went to the science museum of Minnesota, a place I have not been at for years. We went around there for several hours, so it was very tiring. We then met up with my Aunt Linda for dinner at a Italian place. Aunt Linda is very, very busy, so it was nice she was able to take time to have dinner with her sister.
On the way home from dinner, we stopped by Mills fleet farm to get a present for Aunt Judy for allowing Mom and family to spend the time in their house. We then went back to Aunt Judy’s place, and then my sister, and the two half-siblings went to my sisters house.
We had a little birthday party for them, which was nice. The two half-siblings are going to sleep over at my sisters house for the night.
As I mentioned, my mother and her family came up to visit. They are up here until Tuesday, so we are going to be spending quite a bit of time with her. Today we went to the mall of America, something my half sister wanted to do. We spent most of the time in camp snoopy, and I was amazed with how many rides they have packed in there.
We then went around the old neighborhood, and then off to Matt’s Bar (something my mother wanted to do). Service at the bar was very slow, but because of that, we ended up getting the meal for free.
After dinner, we headed up to Missy’s house for a mothers day thing, then off to my Aunt’s place to drop off Mom and her family. A very exhausting day.
